each of the 3 chapters are stand alone games not a expansion
the olny expansion is the soon to be released Eye of the North. so if you buy NF you have a entire game to play |

Breakdown:
Prophecies, the original. 6 core professions, Longest story line and the most gradual learning curve. factions: 2nd installment. shortest story line. Has assassin and ritualist professions along with the core ones. Worst voice acting and terrible story line. Has Alliance battles, which are lots of fun. Steep learning curve. Nightfall: 3rd installment. Has Paragon and Dervish professions alonge with the core 6. Moderate learning curve. Also has Heros, which are henchmen that you can set up their skills, armor and weapons. Longer, much better story than factions, not as long as Prophecies. See the sticky "Player on a budget..." for a more comprehensive look at the 3 chapters. |
